LUNA ES

Privacy policy

Last updated: 2 August 2026.

This is an English translation, provided for convenience. The website is operated from Spain and the Spanish version of this policy is the legally binding one.

This page explains, in the clearest language we could manage, what information the LUNA website (luna2045.com) processes, what it is used for, and what rights you have. The only information we ask for, and that you can provide directly, is your email address, if you decide to sign up to be notified when the books of the 2045 saga are published.

Data controller

The controller of the data processed through this website is Francisco Merlos, the author of the books, acting as a natural person. You can get in touch by email at contacto@luna2045.com with any question about your data or about this policy.

What data is collected, and how

The only point of data collection on this website is the “Tell me when it’s out” form, which can be opened from the cover page, the sample (2031 and 2032) and the augmented chapter. It also appears before you access the augmented chapter for the first time, which is offered as a thank-you for signing up. When you type in your email address and submit the form, that data is transmitted to Brevo, the platform we use to manage the notices.

After submitting the form you will receive a welcome email confirming that your address has been recorded. If you receive that email without having subscribed yourself, write to us or use the unsubscribe link it contains and we will delete the address immediately.

We do not ask for any other identifying data: there are no user accounts, comments, purchases or forms with additional information.

Purpose

Your email address is used exclusively to send you a welcome email and to notify you when LUNA, MARTE and TIERRA, the three planned books of the 2045 saga, are published. It is not used to send you advertising, to build profiles, to cross-reference it with other sources, or for any purpose other than the one stated on the form.

Legal basis

The basis for this processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give expressly by filling in and submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it: every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to us directly.

Recipients and processor

Your email address is stored and managed by Brevo SAS, a company based in France with servers in the European Union, acting as data processor on behalf of the controller. Brevo cannot use your data for its own purposes and is bound by the same data protection obligations required by the GDPR.

No data is sold or transferred to third parties outside this relationship, nor shared for other companies’ own or advertising purposes. No advertising or analytics services that would receive your email address are used.

Retention

Your email address is kept for as long as you remain subscribed, that is, until you unsubscribe or until the purpose of the processing ends (for example, once the saga has been published and no further notices are sent). If you unsubscribe, the data is deleted from the mailing list.

Your rights

At any time you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability over your email address. To do so, simply write to contacto@luna2045.com stating which right you wish to exercise; we will reply as soon as possible.

If you believe that the processing of your data does not comply with the applicable rules, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD), at www.aepd.es.

Analytics, cookies and local storage

To understand in aggregate how the website is used and how it performs, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. This system measures visits, page views, general origin, device and browser type, and performance metrics such as Core Web Vitals. It does not receive the email address you enter into Brevo and is not used for advertising or to build personal profiles.

Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or localStorage to measure visits, and it does not track a person across websites. The small measurement script loads after the content and sends technical performance information to Cloudflare. The results are consulted in aggregate form.

The website uses sessionStorage to remember your sound preference for the duration of a reading session. It also stores in localStorage a technical flag recording that this browser has already been given access to the augmented chapter, so that the invitation is not shown again, and your language choice, so that the site opens in the language you picked. Neither of these contains your email address nor leaves your device; you can remove them by clearing the site’s local data from your browser.

The website does not use advertising cookies. The hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) and the subscription form (Brevo) may use strictly necessary technical cookies to serve the page or process the form submission. These cookies are not used for advertising or profiling.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date shown at the top of the page. If the change substantially affects how we handle your data, we will try to let you know by whatever means is reasonable, including an email if you are already subscribed.
